Do You Wish You Had The Energy To Be A More Present Mom And Wife?

Imagine getting into a car, switching on the ignition, and seeing a warning light indicating a fault. You get out of your car, fetch a hammer, and smash the dashboard so you can no longer see the warning light. “There you go!” you think to yourself. “Problem solved”, and off you go. But ten, twenty, thirty kilometers down the road, your car jerks to a halt. The warning light was no longer visible, but the cause of the warning light was still present, eventually leading to your car breaking down.

This scenario is often reflective of how we treat our own bodies. Our bodies give us little, (or sometimes big) warning signs: fatigue, inexplicable aches and pains, headaches, insomnia, anxiety, stress, constipation, high blood pressureβ€”the list goes on. We quickly pop something to ease the pain or soothe over the inconvenience. But weeks, months, or sometimes even years later, our bodies crash. Now we face much bigger health issues that need addressing, and our bodies no longer function as they should. The systems that keep us healthy have failed.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) can be such a warning sign or it can be a bold sign that the body has been running with its warnings light ignored and it is now crashing. CFS/ME could be triggered by a single event, such as tick-bite fever, glandular fever, COVID-19, or other illness after which our system can’t get back ton track and keep up with daily living. Or sometimes, it’s smaller issues such as constant stress, anxiety, constantly getting a cold and you might take something to relieve the symptoms, but don’t address the cause such as a weak immune system or poor gut health. We take meds, feel better, and repeat. But suddenly our bodies go on a slow strike. We’re extremely tired all the time regardless of a decent night’s sleep (or we struggle to sleep at night), our brains are slow and we cannot think clearly, we get sick all the time and we are often experiencing inexplicable aches and pains to name but a few known symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

CFS/ME is often caused by other health issues and brings a whole host of its own symptoms and/or co-exist with other illnesses or auto-immune diseases.

I discovered and started implementing an amazing program called 100 Days To Health on a plight to address other health issues such as allergies and spastic colon/constipation to name but a few. When I did, one of the first things I noticed was that I had more energy and the brain fog was lifting. Feeling more energetic and thinking clearly allowed me to take bigger steps to address my health issues. It was only later on when I was diagnosed with it, that I learned more about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and because there is no cure, I was glad to have discovered a program and learn valuable skills to help me manage it and live relatively symptom free by learning to take care of my whole body and not just address symptoms.

Here’s what has helped me successfully increase my energy levels and address other health issues too:

  • Cleansing my body of toxins in order to optimally absorb nutrients
  • Fueling my body with nourishing whole foods
  • Staying hydrated
  • Learning to listen to my body and resting when my body needed it
  • Systematically incorporating exercise
  • Carefully choosing supplements that work with my body and not against it.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. But with a good service plan in place and the correct fuel, we can keep going for many good kilometers.

In the end, it’s important to realize that the body is wonderfully created with intricate and complex systems that are interwoven and connected. When one area doesn’t function as it should, it can send signals elsewhere to tell you that something is wrong. It is therefore vitally important to address the body as a whole and not just focus on easing the symptom. So ask yourself, how badly do you want your life back? Are you ready to transform your health and have more energy, or are you happy with being sick and tired all the time.
